SOUTH FAYETTE FIRE DISTRICT

EMEREGNCY PREPAREDNESS,
WEATHER ALERT SIREN INFORMATION

* * IMPORTANT: EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, WEATHER ALERT SIREN INFORMATION * *

The South Fayette Fire District's four volunteer fire departments (South Fayette, Sturgeon, Fairview and Oakridge) have fire siren controllers and technology that will enable all Fire Department's sirens to be activated by the Allegheny County 911 Center for Emergency warnings for weather, disaster or other severe emergency situations.

During any severe weather, disaster or other emergency situation, these sirens can be activated by Allegheny County 911 dispatch or the individual fire departments and will SOUND AT A STEADY FIVE MINUTE TONE, instead of the up and down cycle during normal emergency calls. At this time all residents should take appropriate action by tuning immediately to television news or radio for emergency broadcast information.

The South Fayette fire departments are one of the first to provide this coordinated emergency notification service to our residents.
